Our Story

Hi! My name is Junas, the hands and creator behind JZ Candles Co., based out of Reno, NV.

I was inspired to make clean-burning candles, one summer morning, while drinking my coffee and spending time in prayer. I felt that candles are perfect in shedding light when everything seems so dark. By providing either an inspirational quote, a prayer or a biblical verse, my goal is to encourage you to sit quietly, rest and reflect.

I sought out to make the cleanest-burning candle possible using the best quality ingredients. Our candles are made with All natural, Vegan, Coconut Soy Wax and scented with high quality fragrance oils that are free of phthalates. We also use lead-free cotton wicks and FSC approved wooden wicks. Every candle is hand poured in small batches to ensure quality and performance.

Juana Zaldivar founded JZ Candle in 2021.This business was established in September 2021. After working in the Business Office for several years, she venture out as an independent freelance, and the idea of starting a candle company emerged. She wanted to create non-toxic, natural, and sustainable candles using only soy wax and 100% essential oils (never fragrance oils or perfume). She resides in Reno, Nevada with her husband and son. When making candles, always by hand in small batches, she aims to create an emotional experience, always inspired by the beautiful mountains and natural surrounding.
